Hey Novato residents, did you know that the food scraps and yard clippings you put in your green Recology-Sonoma Marin cart are turned into organic compost right here in Novato at Redwood Landfill??!! To celebrate Earth Day 2025, and in the spirit of closing the loop, the City of Novato is hosting a FREE compost giveaway.
A few notes:
– The compost is for Novato residents only
– Please bring your shovel and buckets/bags
– No landscape contractors or truckloads allowed
The compost giveaway is funded through a grant from CalRecycle.
